Chris Sun – Filmmaker, Storyteller, Creator of The Adventures of Zoe the Zombie
Chris Sun has built his career as one of Australia’s boldest independent filmmakers, known for his gritty creature features, practical effects, and stories that revel in the wild, bloody, and unforgettable. With films like Daddy’s Little Girl, Charlie’s Farm, Boar, and The Possessed, Chris has taken audiences deep into the world of horror, and now he’s stepping into a brand-new world of imagination.
His latest creation, The Adventures of Zoe the Zombie, is a children’s book series with a big heart wrapped in spooky fun. Each book follows Zoe, a curious, kind, and brave little zombie, on magical adventures where she meets new friends who feel like outsiders. From yetis and vampires to werewolves and mummies, every character Zoe meets believes they don’t belong because of what makes them “different.”
But Zoe has a special gift: she shows them that being different isn’t something to hide, it’s what makes them amazing. The series is designed to teach kids that uniqueness is a superpower, and friendship comes from embracing who you truly are.
For Chris, it’s a natural evolution as a storyteller. The same imagination and creativity that fuelled his horror films now power a series that inspires children to laugh, dream, and discover that being different is what makes you truly awesome.
The Adventures of Zoe the Zombie are also created by Fenny Yanti and edited by Kirsty Dallas.
